This might be silly, but how about The Wizard of Oz novels? I think they are available as e-books..
The Soul screamer series by Rachel Vincent is pretty good. There is a free short story prequel available.
Holly Lisle have two YA novels out, the Ruby Key and the Silver door. No idea if they are available as e-books, though.

I have read good things about the Vlad series ( cannot remember the author)
