iLiad always has been one of my favorites.
I still love the OS, for example changing book title or author's name on the fly, directly on the reader.
But would I go out for a new reader now, I'd probably choose iRex 800 over iRex iLiad:
- iLiad is even more expensive, although "2 years more mature".
- iRex 800 has way better battery life.
- I tend to go for the new gadgets.
- iRex 800 does B&Ns PDB. For me that's great, so it does all the nook - formats.
- Firmware of iRex iLiad isn't supported anymore. You'll never see (DRMed) ePUB support for example.
- iRex 800 is extremely compact, although it's got the same screen size.

But you can't go wrong with either iRex unit, features are amongst the most advanced in the market.
