i hate to tell you. you've been able to drag and drop into itunes since it was SoundJam. and any supported media type, not just music files. epubs. videos.

Then you can drag and drop them onto your iDevice? I do that with my Nano, all my mp3s I import into iTunes--either use the search feature or the add file/folder option--then I can drag and drop them onto my Nano.

I've never seen a way to drag files into the iTunes library though, so if you can, more info would be great!
just gather up the files in windows explorer or the finder, drag and drop into your library. poof they're all there. even easier, just drag and drop a folder.

note, this doesn't work for photos. you have to use the method i mentioned in a previous posting.

as i said. keep multiple playlists for each device of mine. one for music. one for audio books. one for video content. then i just add and remove content as i feel like mixing up my files. gives me finer control than the options available in the tabs.

you can not drag and drop from the finder/explorer into the device icon in itunes. it has to go into the itunes library first. you do not have to copy them into itunes if you leave that previously mention option off. itunes will leave them in their original location and only make a reference to them (you won't have duplicate files on your hard drive).
