Aside from alphabetising the herbs & spices, he has thus far done much of what I do. Very little. Learning how to relax.

I too have just bought a new computer: a Lenovo Thinkpad. It is quite possibly the ugliest computer I've ever owned, but is much more powerful than my current ageing laptop.
The Land Rover Defender of laptops?

Early termination of contract, which places us both hand-in-hand-in-retirement. A good thing, in financial and lifestyle terms, but his leaving was made about as pleasant as they made mine. That is, not very.

It is good. It was just very, very bad for the last few months, and, as above, the leaving brought things to a crescendo of crappiness. Past now though.

I wish we had a small bit of lawn. The dog won't "go" on anything but grass.

That's what we did, with hoop pine mulch. It's not that we couldn't get grass to grow though, it's that the only place where grass was growing was the nature strip, and I was buggered if I was going to buy a lawnmower to keep the local council's property maintained. Besides, it looks a lot better now.

It does...and such a pleasure to use for photography post-processing. Now I just have to update to Aperture 3 (the Places idea tickles me pink, as it's a driving motivation behind my photography: time & place).

It bluddy hurt too.
The simple solution for that in future is to not get out of the bath.

Freud "says" that? I don't know who you're speaking to, but it's not Freud. Look for signs of serious ZCD-inebriation, and a llama-on-a-leash - I suspect you've been visiting pshrynk-in-disguise.

Cheers,
