I thought there was a cutoff date for discussion, no? Anyways...I too am searching for the humor in this novel, I mean she kind of rips on native Americans, there's a part about the local hack abortion provider...are these the funny parts?
This is unfortunate because a few years ago I read about half of Confederacy of Dunces and remember laughing out loud waking up my wife at night; which I typically never do, yet I have not cracked even a smile during this book. I'm enjoying the book, it's just not what I would call humorous at all and am wondering about all the votes.
I could see how easy it would be for an old movie script made to be funny, but this really isn't.
