No, I barely see it at the bottom (grey bar). I have it with my own books though. Exactly as you describe.
Someone stated, it would be a compromise between time for turning pages and refresh. I'm not sure about that. Cybook Opus since the firmware update has spectacular speed for turning pages, so do both Kindles. But I don't see that effect there. Maybe somewhat related to the touchscreen? On the other hand, I don't see it (nor the ghosting) on BeBook Neo.
It's not enough to really "kill" the experience. But once you've recognised it, it remains obvious.
