"la grosse pantoufle" ! actually, i sometimes wish bast was more like a grosse pantoufle. mainly when she is making a racket chasing her toy mouse all over the damned house at 5 in the morning, when i am trying to sleep.

words fail me. i'm not even sure i can actually grasp the concept of that much money. clearly i'm in the wrong business though. could somebody maybe get me an interview with someone, since you all seem to have close personal relationships with the guys running this show ?

maybe it's for the same reason that my cats just never get bored with putting clean sheets on the bed, even though we've been doing it week in, week out for about 10 years now (and more, when there are guests). and yet even after all this time, trying to make the bed involves an awful lot of hyper-active, overexcited felines apparently convinced that they're involved in a battle to the death to save the bed from being smothered by those evil, evil bedclothes. most of the time i just end up making the bed with them inside somewhere and hope they get bored before it's time to sleep.

Prettyboy recovered, and lived several years after that, but I don't believe my grandfather ever shut the door on him again.

A comedian once asked why birds are always flying into mirrors. He could understand that perhaps they see the mirror as a window into another room, but, he asked, "Don't they see the other bird coming?"
aw ! (and also : Don't they see the other bird coming?" )

hmph, i see they have that in common with cats, the lazy freeloading bastiches.

you know, i wonder that too, especially when you know that no matter how hard you work, the instant after you stop cleaning it starts to get dirty again. it's just discouraging. i may give up cleaning altogether, actually, save a lot of time and effort.
