I think you're missing the spirit of the word 'fanboy'. Think fanatic boy, i.e. immature male fanatics. Filled with specious arguments and rabid support without justification or indeed supporting evidence.

I disagree. Not every manufacturer has fanboys virulently promoting products the way Apple does. I can't say if Apple isn't directly behind quite a lot of it, especially with respect to the computer side of the business.

Observation isn't assumption.

Mocking? Me? Never!

My point is, you promote it by handing it to others to play with.

My fingers are as Nature made them and no dieting will ever reach Apple UI standard for me.
I believe I read an article that stated it was due to limitations in the handling of the display, not my fingers - but it's easy to not care about the distinction when you can't ring a phone number on a phone!

I doubt anyone has tested their silly agreements very hard - except Pystar. They managed to sell Mac clones without much trouble. But manipulation I call it still, as Pystar have felt pressure from Apple and have wound down parts of their business.
But it doesn't stop Apple

Sony use Linux and Adobe ADE in their firmware. Not unique. And the linux is quite installable on different machines (yay for open source!). Try doing *that* with old OS X. (Don't give me Darwin - Darwin is certainly not OS X.)

Those were unique Apple issues, but there were more where that came from! More than other manufacturers I am aware of.
