You'd think Ice Dancing was the greatest sport ever invented judging by the hoop-la in the press at the time. But ask anyone in the UK to tell you who the current champions are and no-one would have a clue.


I don't know about the press hoop-la in the UK at the time, but I still vividly remember their medal winning performance to Bolero (1984).

Maybe not the greatest sport ever, but Torvill & Dean raised the bar for ice dancing. Took it from a slow, boring event to an intense and passionate one.

But that's just me. I've always loved dance and ice skating (used to be active in both once upon a time.)

Sorry, I'm supposed to be ranting in this thread. OK. I never could get the hang of roller skating. RANT, RANT, RANT.
