I agree with you on this. The base of the Democratic Party is every bit as guilty of excess ideologism as the base of teh GOP. What ever happened to governing, rather than electioneering.

On Sarah Palin, I differ, but that may also be due to the different sides of the fence on which we sit.

I have not seen in her presence much of substance or of resolve. To me, she really looks as if she is parroting a line that she feels will get her the votes that she needs to be elected.

(Not that Obama is not guilty of same.)
