Then why is it that devices such as the Pocketbook support both ePUB and Mobi? The Cool-er supports Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) with both ePUB and PDF with or without DRM, as well as PRC (without DRM).
If we're going to get two firmware versions (in the first quarter of 2009, so says the prophecy
), why can't we have a firmware which supports both ePUB with DRM and Mobi without DRM and another with DRMed Mobi and DRM-free ePUB?
