i think they do have a special name but i forget what my friend called them... maybe catire knows. they're usually sold in small bunches of 5 or 6 in a plastic bag, here, and are very expensive because they're imported (from guadeloupe, presumably). and you are missing out ; they've got a different flavour from regular bananas, sort of halfway between banana and strawberry i think. they're DELICIOUS.
