I suppose a landfill worker would identify common trash and separate it from incidental trash that may find appreciation.

We just need to do a little trading places (anyone remember that Eddie Murphy and Dan Aykroyd movie?) between the landfill sorters and the publishing agents. Seems just, doesn't it?
