I hadn't thought to look for any Chekhov before you reminded me with your post (read 'The Kiss' years ago and it was one of those light bulb-turned-on-in-a-darkened room moments for me)
There's a collection on Feedbooks including 'The Steppe' but it's not brilliantly put together (Chapter headings instead of Story Headings). And I think 'The Kiss' is available on Gutenberg too.
