Ya know how indoor/outdoor carpet (or kitchen carpet) is low, loopy pile? My first dog (a big breed; much smaller when I chose the cute puppy!) shredded a whole kitchen's carpet once. Just pulled on the loops and the whole thing unraveled into a large ball of string. Sigh.
I then realized I wasn't cut out for a big dog (still only 6 months old) and gave him to a better home. 20-some years later, I learned 'ownership' on cats, and have now graduated to a small-dog breed -- a shih tzu. It's working out MUCH better!
