I had designed a scheme to keep the different powers cords and other wires from dangling in a heap on the floor in our previous flat.

I used an extensible spring-mounted shower curtain bar which I attached to the back side of the desk, between the side panels.
Then I rolled the power cords and fastened them to the bar, leaving just enough length for them to reach the desired spot. I did the same for USB cables.
The floor was clear and I could extend my legs freely under the desk without risking to experience a flying keyboard or mouse.

I'm not using the same desk in the new appartment, and I've been very lazy so I haven't done it again. Also, knowing that the current desk will change hasn't been helping the natural laziness.
