i would love a system like that. my flat is rather old and i have a severe lack of outlets. so i have to use extension cords and multi-plug addons everywhere. and the bajillion power cords behind my computer are a dust trap and a real annoyance to keep sorted, and difficult to clean around ; it would be brilliant to get rid of them altogether. and think of the ecological benefits as we reduced manufacture and consumption of the power cords and also disposable batteries.

thinking on a larger scale, if they could adapt this technology to long distances, it would be a revolution for remote areas which have trouble getting infrastructure because the cost of dragging the power grid out there is too high to be justified by the relatively small populations it would benefit. even more so for developping countries. and it would mean also, no more power outages to thousands of homes after a bad storm, which may take days to resolve, during which people have potentially no heat, no light, no way to cook...

i hope we see this sytem implemented really soon, on a large scale.
