Unless it's me and my girlfriends in which case the server gets a fat tip. We also don't expect guys to pay our way. If it's a special occasion, like my birthday, I might feel put out if my date didn't pay. I'd certainly treat him somewhere nice on his birthday. In general, I like to take turns paying. I don't want to interrupt good conversation to figure out the split. Generally what goes around comes around. No need to get all exercised about a few dollars.
