If Amazon has injected the new KFX DRM into 5.12.2.2, then it seems inevitable that it will roll out to all KFX-capable Kindles shortly. And once all pre-KFX Kindles are shut out on May 20, it looks like the end of using eink Kindles as a source of calibre-friendly ebooks

ETA: See this post for more on why this situation isn't just "wash-rinse-repeat" as in the past.
