Define "cheap". MSRP is $200. For $100 I'd buy one for a weather station.

I was a diehard B&N fan for years, but that was a while ago.
I've pretty much gone to Onyx 6" readers, which doesn't help you at all.
Bigger than 6" always has a premium price.
So I guess that the 7.8" B&N is the budget bigger-than-6" on the market.

You might consider Kobo or Onyx.
