Yep, I read soooo many books on my first Kindle. I had lots of books already converted to the .mobi format, from the early days of reading books on a palm pilot. And I had a sony reader before I got the Kindle, so converting ebooks and sideloading them was no issue for me.

Besides the fact that I read so many books on that first Kindle, for me, it was proof that the world was starting to take e-books and e-book readers seriously. I knew widespread adoption was around the corner, and I was right.
