Well, it's not recommended and does cause problems. I guess like having a T1 that doesn't freeze, you've been lucky.
See also upgrading to Windows 11 on unsupported HW. Or Calibre Database & book files via network.
I saw loads of dodgy stuff work, for some people, and then it didn't, when I did IT support.
