Yes, most are now 16:9 or 16:10, 7″ or 8″.

There were tablets 6" and 4:3. An iPad may have been the last. I had a Gemini long ago that was Android 4.x, 6″ and 4:3.

The marketing Depts thinking that Widescreen video is the most important content. The WS Video format has seriously degraded laptops for PDFs and other documents. A 15.5″ approx 1600 x 1200 (4:3) model in 2002 is better than a current 17" 1920 x 1080 model for A4 PDFs and many applications. The 1920 x 1080 is a video format and I watch almost all video on TVs (42" to 55") or on 84" screen projector.
