I will use email for things I can (pdfs, txt, doc, ...). Does Finder-Airdrop-dropbox, work for mp3s (with the Apple music app and Denon music app)?

I came from non-Apple environments. I don't use Macs. When I started with Apple, I don't think you could "just copy", or use airdrop, or use dropbox: so "sideloading" seemed like a sensible term at the time, and I don't see a problem still using it. YMMV.
