Baffling.
But almost everyone in our wider family has an eink ereader. There were 6 Sage (one got lost), 2 x original H2O, Nook ST (now dead), Kobo Touch C (now dead), Nia, Elipsa, reMarkable, Various Kindle Basics, PW1, PW2. PW3 (a few), PW4, K3, DXG, a Kindle with no touch or keyboard, Kindle Oasis 2, Storybook Cover (iRiver?, now dead), Likebook Mars, Libra H2O, Libra 2, Sony PRS-350, T1 (sent back) and Sony PRS-T2.
I see no variation on the Sages. The PW3s are similar, Pw4 worse than PW3s or original H2O.
I've seen Boox Color and 3 models of Pocketbook, inc one colour. Saw a Sony in early 2007.
Generally they have to be side by side to see differences. The worst screen was the Kobo Touch (C version). Poorer than old Pearl on K3. It had bad ghosting.
Sometimes the Sage has bad ghost on wake till the next page is pressed.
Full colour or grey scale images on a page force a full refresh, but simple two tone pure black and white images don't.
All the Carta screens need less refreshes if doing pure black & White. Anything with a coloured or grey background is dreadful on eink.
