I too used Kindles for a long time. They're good devices, but modern Kindles (and that includes the Oasis) are so locked down that you can't do much with them unless you jailbreak. Amazon wants to control everything you do with your device. That was one of the reasons I switched to Kobos - they work much better with Calibre and don't require jailbreaking.
