Yes. I reformat the ebook. Clear out all the gunk - ads, praise, toc, etc

I create a character summary which I add to the end of the book as an appendix. It's a quick reference of who the character is and how they fit into the story. Not all books as some don't need them, but the longer stories with multiple story arcs need them. Sometimes I forget who a character is when they haven't been around for a couple of hundred pages.

I don't add a synopsis to the book. I add that into the Calibre metadata page and it then gets transferred as metadata to the Kobo. Though it is not a real synopsis, just the blurb on the back cover of the book.

I don't use an inline TOC. I just use the toc.ncx and nav.xhtml.
