Good to know it's possible to recover. After all, any of us can get a stroke at some point in our life.
Micro-strokes (with no outward symptoms at all) are much more insidious. Enough of those and dementia will set in. My mother got dementia that way - she never had any sign of a stroke, none at all, but when they did a brain scan after her cognitive functions and memory had started to worsen noticeably, it was discovered she had had several micro-strokes over the years.
Unfortunately once dementia has begun, it cannot be stopped or cured.
