I kept the 12,000 page goal that I had used the last couple years; it seems about right for my current needs. If I finish this early again next year though, I may bump my goal a bit. My secondary goal this year was to finish the Stormlight Archive (up to current at least), but I didn't even start book 4. Maybe next year.

This year my commute changed up quite a bit and the driving component is much longer, so I read a lot of books in a hybrid form where I would read on my Kindle, then listen to the audiobook, and go back and forth. I hadn't really done that before and it worked well for me. I don't really even notice the transition from one to the other any longer.

I doubled my previous best year for audio book reading this year with over 345 hours vs 171 hours in the past.

I might start tracking where I purchase books. I used to buy almost all my books from Amazon due to convenience and exclusivity, but this year I don't think I bought any from them due to Amazon's stance on letting you download books and their habit of adding DRM even when the publisher says it doesn't request it. Unfortunately, that has meant that I have to wait longer to get my books since Amazon appears to upload things a day or two faster than Kobo.

Milestones this year:

• I passed 100,000,000 words read since 2011 when I started keeping track of my reading. (4/17 - Project Hail Mary)
• Read books from 150 different years between 1717 and 2025. (3/18 - Orphan X: Nemesis)

The last chart is an attempt to see how diverse (in terms of years) my reading is on a year-by-year basis. As you can see, there are some years where I read a very narrow range of years and other where I read a very broad range.
