I was reviewing recently installed programs today and to my surprise Calibre was in the list. When I do open Calibre, I get prompted that there is a new version and do I want to install it. I always say no because if it's not broke, I don't need to fix it. I'm in the process of uninstalling v7.2 and reinstalling 0.9.38. I guess I will just have to block the Calibre site to prevent any future updates (via hosts file). I mostly 'read' via audiobooks these days so I don't use Calibre much anymore.
Obviously you must have installed 7.2 at some point. Calibre has no auto-update, as already said. And 7.2 is actually not a recent version, so any auto-update, if it existed, would not update to 7.2 today.
