I don't think they are for ereaders. They are aiming at retail displays.
Kaleido is a niche and abysmal for novels. It's only good for comics and needs the front light on. Also Kaleido true resolution is half a regular mono panel resolution, fine for comics and poor for novels.

Eink itself is a niche with over half of ebooks read on phone apps.
Gallery colour is a different principle and only for retail display due to 1.5 second refresh!
Three supermarket chains here recently changed to eink 'two colour price tags' and one has larger panels.
We need better batteries with more power and faster processors. If this makes the devices heavier, so be it. It needs to be done or the lighter devices would be useless.

I would like a new Libra 2E that has a more powerful battery and faster processor. I don't want the battery life to be any worse for putting in a faster processor.
