2) Yes, this reset is fine, if you can do it. It is the same as putting DO_FACTORY_RESTORE file (no extension!) into the Kindle storage and just rebooting.

3) You didn't install the current FW that supports JB again. Search how to find it here, for example: https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...9&postcount=16

So after fcatory reset + PROPER FW (no more than 5.16.2.x!!!), do the JB again.
