And how does it confirm you are the right person? Sending you an email to the registered email address? Sending a text to the registered phone number? If you don't have access to either of those, as much use as a concrete block to a drowning person.

Amazon.ca does have an option to contact Customer Service for help restoring access to your account at the bottom of the Password Assistance box.
