Sadly the fun came to an early end when I was able to confirm my doctor is still, in fact, practicing, and book an appointment with them at their new clinic. Still though – no letter, phone call, nothing. Even their website is completely offline, rather than showing some explanatory message. Feeling lucky to have resolved the “fun” without too much undue stress.

Similar thing happened to me 20+years ago, she left the country without telling anyone - not even her receptionist!
Then it happened again in 2021. But he visited or called on his patients to hand over their records - he was on his way to see me, when he spotted me on the street. He went back to HK.
