My reading of the situation is that some publishers, at least for some books, find DRM which cannot be removed an attractive proposition. The danger is that Amazon will find this a competitive advantage, which will in turn not only encourage Amazon to continue down this path but will encourage Adobe and others to come up with similar DRM schemes. E-Books available only on Amazon when Amazon currently has the only "secure" drm scheme? Coincidence?
