I'm with you there. If I was ever considering their ebook reader, I'm not now. I see the link with selling ereaders in book stores and I can make the link for selling them in electronics stores, but selling the device in a BB&B indicates its second rate and instead of penetrating the two logical brick and mortar outlets, it can only achieve retail penetration in some wonky unrelated retail environment.
I think placing their product in those stores will damage their image and not improve their sales.
Just my opinion, I have no facts beyond my visceral reaction to reading the announcement. Didn't mean to offend anyone, and don't know enough about this particular device to know much about it, but in my mind, the jetbook will always now be immediately thought of as a joke and not a serious, state-of-the-art ebook reader. Maybe I'll overcome it by coming to MobileRead to learn about this device's capabilities, but a lot of folks won't ever come to MobileRead to learn if their initial reaction was wrong or not.
