Oh wow hahaha now I laugh at myself for not seeing it was the rotated power button...
The thing is, my Kobo did all that after I synced it (plugged via USB), but there was no indication it was updating the firmware or anything, and I ejected it from the Kodo desktop app without any problems. I honestly wonder what happened in the first place, and how there was no indication of firmware update while plugged in...
