Wouldn't it be three taps? One to display the menu bar, another to show the Menu and the third to choose the option to go back to the home screen. Which is either the same number, or one more tap than doing without NickelMenu. That would be; tap to bring up the menu bar and tap the "Back to ..." option at the top. That either returns you to the home screen, or to a book list. For the latter, one more tap to get home. Of course, neither is what @maddz wants.
