Are you sure you're visiting Amazon.com and not being redirected to amazon.nl? Amazon.com only sells things in US Dollars.

https://ereaderiq.com to track ebook prices. Note, however, that it only supports the US and UK Amazon stores.
If you wish, you can try and change your address to the US, but then you'll only be able to buy books from that store, and if you're using a Kindle and reading DRMed books, your old purchases will not be accessible.
