Books seems like a reasonable default to me, as that the most common type people are likely to want to interact with. (True for me anyway) If you are managing Books and Docs, then filter the Kindle to match what CD is showing.

You can change the Sort order. If you are comparing CD with your Kindle, you need to put them in the same order, and that should be possible with either Title or Author.

Kindle platform doesn’t know what CD’s Created/Acquired Date means, so you cannot use that sort order on CD. Likewise, CD doesn’t know what Recent sort order means, so you cannot use that on your Kindle.
That would be nice, but no. On the computer I go to C/D and select devices on the top menu. I select my Oasis. I select books only. I set sort alpha by title. On the Kindle I select books only and set sort to by title. The first 4 books on the Kindle screen are not in the C/D list. The 1st book in C/D is 5th on the Kindle. To add insult to injury, the sorting doesn't match. On one The Battle of Britain is in order on Battle. On the other is it in order on The. Really horrible implementation.
