If a word is enclosed in quotation marks, when you double-click the word it should only select the word and not the enclosing quotation marks (at least this is the behaviour in WPs). Unfortunately this does not happen in the Calibre editor – which, AFAICS, is a bug.

(I'm not a programmer so unfortunately I can't submit a patch for this.)
