I'm using K4PC 1.34.1 together with the batch file to launch it with KFX downloads disabled. The batch file can be found in message #1265 in the Dealing with Kindle for PC/Mac 1.19 and KFX in calibre thread in the calibre forum.

Just run the batch file and it will launch K4PC and then disable KFX downloads.
