It has been a problem for years that under Windows the ExtractISBN plugin does not work for me on any pdf file. The log reads:
Starting job: Extract ISBN for 1 books
================================================== =
...
Format: PDF
Exception when scanning for ISBN: not all arguments converted during string formatting
Failed to extract ISBN
I have tested with different versions of Python; the result is always the same.
The plugin works under Linux.
