Do the substrates break? Sure. But I’d bet it’s not as common as folks seem to think. After all people aren’t going to post randomly “my ereaders screen is still fine” whereas when they break folks tend to post.

Also the person you quoted has a Kobo Aura 1 which doesn’t have the plastic substrate. They were asking for the Sage which of course also doesn’t have a plastic substrate.

All of which makes your initial and follow up replies nonsensical.
i was replying to post 390 someone letting me know the Sage as a glass substrate. i put i already know that. i also know the KA1 as a glass substrate. hence why my previous post at 389 says i'd liked an updated KA1 (if that happens is debatable) to have a flexible/plastic substrate. personally i'd like all e-readers regardless of screen size to have a flexible/plastic substrate, of course that's only my subjective preference.

objectively speaking which is more likely to break a glass substrate or a flexible/plastic substrate?

read from post 386 it should then hopefully make sense to you.

edit. having reread post 386 i now realise i put two an two together and got five. i thought the question that was being asked was what features would you like an updated KA1 to have which is why i put a flexible/plastic substrate at post 389. please accept my sincere apologies for making such a stupid mistake.

best wishes koboy
