Even if you wait, there's no guarantee you're getting new stock or the left-overs from the initial release.

My Forma I got about 18 months after release; there's a faint darker shadow by the strip, but I barely notice it. It certainly doesn't interfere with my reading, any more than the spine crease does in a paper book.
