Right-click the preferences button and it is on the menu. It restarts calibre and shows a message about the log. When you close calibre it should show the log.

I've always found it slow.
That should have plenty of resources available. Hopefully the debug log will tell me how many it is handling. Though it could be an issue with resource from the previous steps not being cleaned up fully.
