The scenario that does not lead towards herd immunity is for unvaccinated people to stay locked up in their houses, afraid to go out because they might catch covid. This type of behavior does not lead to herd immunity, but the people who choose to do this have no effect on the rest of us. They are self-isolating thus taking themselves out of the equation. Works for me. It would suck to be them, but that's their choice.
