Dear ottischwenk. Please do your own reasearch.
1. There're no Android e-ink devices. These you mention are based on AOSP and can run Android apps to some extent.
2. You seem worried about users breaking TOS but don't give a dimme about companies making profit breaking Google trademarks and stealing IP.
3. By recommending devices without no valid warranty (other than the provided by the shop that delivers them) and no FCC/EC/equivalent compliance, you could be deceiving some users, which are not aware about what buying these device really means to them.
So please get down from your ivory tower, listen to others and don't assume your needs or your likes match other users needs or likes.
OP is looking for a "I just want to read, no frills" and your recommendation has nothing to do with that, but is based on "how many cores, wow".
And please, please, please stop telling others than their suggestions or likes are stupid. That's annoying and doesn't add value to your own opinion.
