With a 2" smaller screen and 92% keyboard it is no where near as large and the D420. The weight with the battery is similar but the battery life on the ASUS is twice the battery life of the Dell. If you get the larger more equal battery then the Dell weighs much more.

The 420 is a great small notebook machine and has many nice features like a full size keyboard and 12.1" screen but it does not qualify as a netbook using the current definitions. A Netbook class screen is no larger than 10.2"
