Unfortunately, worked before doesn't mean that much. The cable could have been damaged, Windows might have updated something or the port could have been disabled somehow. And until you get Windows to recognise the device, nothing that tries to use it will be able to do anything.

The standard trouble-shooting suggestions are to try different cables, ports, another computer, reboot the device and PC. Then make sure Windows, or your anti-virus isn't blocking it some way. Most respond to one of these things. Unfortunately, it could be a damaged port on the device. That might not be fixable.
